Government Contracting Overview

The FED works with small businesses and the federal government to advance innovation by guiding enterprises with early-stage technologies to further define those technologies for commercialization, either directly for the market or via supply chains to specifically targeted corporations having a need for such innovations. For Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) companies, the FED provides customized technology transition assistance.

For the Small Business Administration (SBA) award to the San Diego Advanced Defense Cluster, FED provides training services, including mentoring and counseling, for small businesses.

These materials cover a range of topics including preparing for technology commercialization, forming teams for large federal procurements, preparing compliant and compelling federal proposals, and assessing readiness for federal contracting growth.
